It isn’t often that I pack a whole lot into one week. But the week before I certainly did. It was my birthday week. My birthday was on a Monday & I celebrated in Texas over the weekend. Surrounded by family. It was a week that contained many aspects of life. Death, travel, flowers, favorite places, exciting events animals, lots of laughter and FAMILY! Before I left, my husband & I attended a beautiful funeral for a family member and a Vet. While we were riding in the procession heading to his final resting place, another funeral procession passed us in the opposite direction. This was definitely a 1st for me.
I stopped a lot on my way to Texas to capture the beautiful wildflowers that line the highway in the Spring. My daughter and I went to a carnival my 1st night. The entire family went to a Renaissance Festival on Saturday. Saturday night my eldest granddaughter presented me with a birthday cake that she made herself.

We wrapped up Saturday night by trying to light a paper candle. That was actually a funny adventure. It was quite windy and the paper candle just wouldn’t take flight. Instead, it went sideways….as it began to move towards the hill that leads to the road, everyone ran after it. Now mind you, it was quite dark and we were out in the country. Next thing I know, I see three heads disappear over the hill. Yeah, we were laughing….because the candle didn’t go up….but everyone went down.
I did bring home a few sparkly items that I enjoy gazing at as the light reflects off of them in our big picture window. I brought home flowers that were picked and given to me while I was there. They dried in my car so beautifully.
This week, I’ve been taking it easy, resting up from the previous weeks exciting adventures. Editing the many photos I took. This week was one of stillness. It was definitely a fun birthday week…and the time with family and the laughter that was shared was definitely one of my most treasured memories.
Have a blessed day!
