On the eve of my mom’s passing, I remember standing in the driveway of mom’s home and telling my brother and his wife to never miss a sunset. That evening, as the sun was setting behind mom’s house, there was a beautiful cloud formation in the shape of a heart in the sky. The sun reflected upon the clouds with a soft golden glow. Everyone has a favorite time of the day. For some it is sunrise, for me, it is definitely sunsets! It is the time of day that I seem to be most alert and feel at one with whatever scene is before me. Often, those scenes include beautiful Louisiana sunsets.
It is not just these reasons that I never miss a sunset if I can manage it. I look upon the setting sun as a reminder of the day that was had. The beauty of them, is merely an added bonus. A reminder, that no matter what the day brought, there was indeed something beautiful, something unique, something magical that happened as well.
This week I am passing on my week in review post, because these scenes truly do reflect the finest moments of my week.
